Tackling the Climate Crisis: Every climate action counts

Updated: Sep 18

The biggest myth about Climate Change? It’s too late to do anything. The National Children’s Botanical Garden is taking CLIMATE ACTION NOW!

We are proud and excited to offer this trail-blazing project - the first of its kind in Canada. With some Ottawa schools, and in keeping with our mandate, we are leading an innovative climate action project of hope, voice, agency, and community. In addition to various activities including planting trees and walking or biking to school, students and their households are taking climate action and tracking their progress through a partnered digital measurement platform. The platform maps actions to GHG emission reductions in real-time, providing instant progress reporting and hard aggregate data. This action-learning project is drawing interest and gaining traction. We are grateful to all project participants and encourage their ongoing efforts to build a better, more sustainable future.
